The commerce department’s proposal for the meeting has been cleared by the Election Commission (EC) and close to two dozen countries may be invited for discussions on May 13-14, the second such initiative taken by India since talks collapsed in Buenos Aires in December 2017. Unlike the last time when India hosted a mini-ministerial, this time the US and the European Union will not be part of the discussions, sources told TOI.
